Activities & information

apple pressingDo you have some spare or windfall apples?

Would you like to have a go at making your own tasty, fresh apple juice?

Just bring along your apples and a container for the juice and use our cider press to make your own juice. Juice freezes well, or can be fermented to make your own cider!

Please note that you need lots of apples to make juice – a very large shopping bag full will make between 3 and 4 litres of juice.

If you don’t have any apples of your own, there will still be a chance to have a go at pressing and to sample some apple juice on the day.

Barter your surplus produce

Remember to bring along your produce on Sunday 27th Sept

Last year - Not more runner beans!

Last year - Not more runner beans!

This will be simple system whereby someone brings along some of their produce i.e. autumn rasberries, tomoatoes, pickels and swaps them for something they would like depending on what is on offer at the time. It is then up to the discretion of the person on the stall and the person with the produce to make a fair swap and come to an agreement.

We are stiplulating that for items such as runner beans, apples and courgettes only one small bag will be taken in exchnage as these are prolific at this time of year and everyone seems to bring them leaving nothing to barter for. If you do bring the above items it would be nice to bring something that is not so much in abundance.
